Mrs A Fitch (Head Teacher)
Our proposed admissions policy for 2018 includes within it an increase in the number of children that we could admit in reception (technically referred to as our Pupil Admission Number or PAN) from the current 12 to a proposed 14.
We would like to increase the number of pupils we can admit to:
Support an increase in young families moving into the area to help to retain a vibrant local rural community
To meet the need of those moving into the local community as we are currently in the position of having to decline admissions to local families who wish to attend
Make the best use of the school’s capacity to educate children and allow greater access for more families to benefit from our excellent facilities and staff.
We have given careful consideration to group sizes, classroom size and outside space and are content that we have more than adequate facilities to deal with an increased in our PAN. The increase would mean that the maximum class size would be 14 in Reception (Class One), 28 in Class 2 (being a combination of a maximum of 14 in Year 1 and Year 2, 28 in Class 3 and 28 in class 4. The maximum total school pupil number would then increase from the current 84 to 98. Current number on role is 81 and we are full in a number of year groups and have had to turn away families with two children recently as we had no room in one of the year groups required.
