During the this term, Class 3 will be scaling great heights in our ‘Mountains’ Geography topic, deepening and broadening the understanding and learning started in our ‘Rocks and Soils’ Science unit.
In Science, we will become particle physicists as we learn about States of Matter; solids, liquids and gases. We will be enjoying our usual blend of practical experience, discussion, multimedia and role-play to gain a deeper understanding of particles and how they react together.
Our Music this term will be with the ever-inspiring Mr Trim, following our general ‘Mountains’ theme. Our D&T will also link to Mountains and Volcanoes… as we design and make pneumatic dragons!
In R.E. we will be learning more about Where, How and Why Christians Worship, looking in closer detail at churches and church buildings, and the things we might find therein.
Class 3 will be swimming this term, on a Thursday afternoon. On Friday afternoons we will once again be working with our excellent sports coach, George, looking at striking and fielding and invasion games, through hockey.
Spellings and homework will be starting up again. Spellings and Tables Tests will continue to take place on Mondays, with homework set on Tuesday. Please continue to hear your children read, as often as possible (at least 3 times a week) as this is crucial to their continuing progress. A signature or initial in the yellow book would be great, too.
Throw in our continuing focus on Reading, Writing and Maths and we truly do have a jam-packed term to look forward to!
