Meet the governors

Matt Fulford

Chair of Governors (Foundation Governor appointed by Chedworth PCC)

Matt is the Chair of Governors, he has two children attending at St Andrews and lives in Chedworth.  Matt has a professional background in Sustainability and Quantity Surveying and runs his own energy efficiency consultancy business. As such he has a particular interest in the efficient running of the school and its buildings

Jon Francis

 Vice Chair (Foundation Governor appointed by Chedworth PCC)

Jon is the Vice Chair of Governors, he is the father of 4 children, all of whom have attended St Andrew’s School. In works as an Anaesthetist at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is the Quality Assurance lead for Medical Education in the South West of England.

Vicki Brosch

Foundation Governor (Appointed by Chedworth PCC)

Vicki has two children, Ollie and Ewan, attending at St Andrews and moved to Chedworth in August 2014.  Vicki was a teacher for 13 years prior to having children.  She held roles on two Senior Management Teams for 8 years and was Deputy Headteacher for 2 years.  With her professional background Vicki has a strong interest in the primary school curriculum and policies.

Priscilla Burris

 Foundation Governor (Appointed by Yanworth PCC)

Priscilla has lived at Fossebridge for over 30 years and all her grown up children have attended St Andrews School.  Priscilla is a Diocesan Reader and part of the Ministry team in the church benefice. She was a governor at St Andrews from 1988 to 2003. Priscilla is a partner with her husband John in his cabinet making business, Hawkswood Timbercraft and a PA to a famous writer. Priscilla also works part time for the National Trust at Chedworth Roman Villa. Priscilla retired as Head of Special Needs of a secondary school in 1984, having worked in this field for 15 years.

Anne Baxter

 Parent Governor (Appointed by Parental Ballot)

Anne has three children, all currently attending St Andrews and has worked as a farm secretary for 25 years, currently for her husband’s local farming business. From this line of work and previous positions as treasurer/bookkeeper to the local pre-school and a couple of charities in Hampshire, she has an in depth knowledge of accounts.

Rev Stephen Goundrey-Smith

 Foundation Governor - Ex-Officio (as parish priest)

Stephen is the parish priest of Hill and Valley Benefice, which includes St Andrew’s Church, Chedworth. Prior to ordination, he worked in pharmacy and he also has his own business, SGS PharmaSolutions, providing pharmacy training, medical writing and pharmacy informatics consultancy. He has four children, one of whom is currently at St Andrew’s School.

Jennifer Glass

Foundation Governor (Appointed by Chedworth PCC)

Jennifer has two children currently at St. Andrews and a third child now at secondary school having previously also attended St. Andrews.  Jennifer read law at Queen Mary College, London University and was a finance lawyer in the City of London for 15 years before moving to Chedworth in 2007.  Jennifer enjoys taking part in many sports and is keen to encourage participation by children and families in sporting activities at all levels.

Michelle Williams

 Parent Governor (Appointed by Parental Ballot)

Michelle has two daughters at St Andrews School and has lived in Chedworth for over two years with strong family connections back to the village. Michelle thoroughly enjoys everything country life has to offer and has worked for the last two years as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in a local primary school.

Robert Baker

Foundation Governor (Appointed by Chedworth PCC)

Robert is in his third term as Governor at St Andrews, and has lived in Chedworth since 1983.  His two children started in reception at St Andrews and went all the way through the school finishing in July 2013.  Robert is an Agronomist with a local firm and also has management roles in recruitment, staff training and development, business development and team leadership.

Mrs Angharad Fitch

Ex-Officio (As Head Teacher of the School)

Mrs Fitch is the Head of the school. She also job shares in the Reception class, teaching on a Friday. She leads the subjects of Mathematics and RE and has a range of other Teaching & Learning responsibilities. Mrs Fitch has a BA (Hons) Degree in Theology and Education from University of Cambridge and completed her PGCE at the University of Gloucestershire. She has worked at St Andrew’s for 10 years.

She has two young children, the eldest attending St Andrew's. She is actively involved in St Mark’s Church, Cheltenham and enjoys spending precious time with her family and friends.

Mr Adrian Hunt

Staff Governor (Elected by Ballot of Staff of the School)

Mr Hunt is the full time class 4 teacher of the school and is the subject leader for Sports, IT and English. He is a fluent French speaker and also leads Modern Foreign Language teaching at St Andrew’s. He completed his PGCE at the University of Gloucestershire after several years in the wine business. He has worked at St Andrew’s for 4 years.

Mr Phillip Needham

Local Authority Governor (Appointed by Gloucestershire County Council)

Phillip has lived in Chedworth since retiring in 2008. He is a former CEO with an international business background mainly in retailing. With three grown up children and seven grandchildren Phillip is an active Grandparent and takes a close interest in their development. His past has included charitable work, especially in Rotary and currently undertakes voluntary work to benefit Chedworth village. He is interested in most sports and has become a keen golfer since retiring.
