Our Classes
Classes Pictures
The classes at St Andrew's C of E are named after our unique and interesting history. Near to the school, there used to be a train line. Four of the train carriages, which used to frequently pass, were called, Thunderbolt, Goldfinch, Churchill and Godolphin.
Thunderbolt class is a reception class, this is known as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and is children's first experience of school. Please see the separate class page for more information. Thunderbolt class is taught by the highly experienced, Mrs L Pearson (SENDco) and supported by our teaching partners.
Goldfinch class is a mixed aged class of Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. They are taught by Mrs L Williams and Mrs A Warwick and supported by our teaching partners.
Churchill class is a mixed aged class with Year 3 and Year 4 pupils. They are taught by Mr L Gingell and supported by our teaching partners. Year 3 is a very important stepping stone into Key Stage 2. Children find this transition a simple step due to knowing the school and the staff so well before the move.
Godolphin class is a mixed aged class with Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. They are taught by Mrs K Roberts and supported by our teaching partners.
Miss P Watkins our PPA teacher will support all classrooms.

Writing
At St Andrew's C of E we teach writing with the support of writing consultant, "I am a Clever Writer". Children use a wide variety of texts as a basis for their writing and develop writing checklists to independently edit and improve their own writing.
