Welcome to our Governors' section.

The Governing Body has three core functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Holding leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent, including the pupil premium.

As per our Instrument of Government our Governing Body is made up of 12 individuals: 2 parent governors; 1 Local Authority (LA) Governor (nominated by the LA but appointed by the governing body); 1 staff governor; the Head Teacher and 7 Foundation governors , some of which are also parents.

Foundation governors are appointed by Gloucester Diocesan Board of Education after consultation with the PCCs of Chedworth and Yanworth.  These will number 6 and 1 respectively.
